So even if I do exclusively buy cruelty-free beauty products, I don't necessarily just subscribe to and follow cruelty-free beauty YouTubers. Sometimes it's good to see how other people see makeup and it's relaxing to watch other YouTubers because you like their personalities. Of course, thorough and unbiased reviews are always appreciated, regardless if the product is cruelty-free or not.

So it comes as no surprise that Emilynoel83 is my favorite beauty influencer and YouTuber. Her reviews are always honest and informative, and she champions gratitude, optimism, and kindness in a platform that can be vile and toxic. Many of my own purchases have been determined by her say in it and I've always found that she is trustworthy.

It seems that I'm not the only one whose found some great products because in 2014, BeautyFlower started a tag all about the products that Emily convinced her to buy. You may feature the products that worked for you and didn't work if you choose to do this tag. For this post, I will feature a number of products, some that are holy grail products, some recent purchases, and some tried-and-tested products that I love.

Too Faced Clover Palette

When this came out last year, most people were turned off by it because they assumed that it would be a sub-par product, given how Too Faced quality has been lately. Also, the design is not exactly the sleekest and most mature-looking as it was inspired by the brand owners' pet chihuahua. But I did like the color scheme and was curious about how it performed.

In a video that Emilynoel83 put out, she shared that she did this bring this palette with her on a trip and she said that it was surprisingly good.

I decided to pick it up since I wanted to see if she was right, and I agree. A lot of the shadows do feel like the original Too Faced formula from the chocolate palettes. Also, it is gluten- and paraben-free.

Swatches were done without primer, by the way

They are soft and pigmented. I will say that some of the shades (Daddies <3 Me, Chihuahua, and Love is Love) don't go on that vibrant and do need building up. But I've found that they build up nicely and last all day. At the time this came out, it was a limited edition product. But as of now, it is back and stock and many retailers still carry it here in the Philippines. So it's not too late for you to buy it.

Where to get it:

Milani Eyeshadow Primer

If you watch a lot of Emily's videos, she mentions this product a LOT. There's a good reason why this is her holy grail eyeshadow primer, and I have found that this is the only eye primer I will ever use too. It's lightweight and does extends the wear of your eyeshadow. I particularly love it because it's inexpensive and one tube can last me months a little goes a long way.

This tube is actually almost empty, I have since bought a backup for it

Milani also advertises that this product helps intensify colors too, and it really does make less pigmented and not-so-great eyeshadows pop. Here is what it can do to "Midnight Stroll" from the Tropical Paradise Palette that Revolution Beauty did with Tammi Clarke:

On the left are brush swatches on bare skin, on the right is a brush swatch over the primer. I tried building the color up for both swatches.

I have used this eye primer exclusively since 2016. I have no plans of switching to another product any time soon.

Where to get it:

Revolution Beauty Conceal & Define Concealer (C4)

Let it be known that I don't think that this is a Tarte Shape Tape concealer dupe. However, I feel that that this product is amazing in its own way. As Emily said in one of her videos, this is a creamier and more comfortable formula, especially because some people felt like Tarte Shape Tape was too drying and settled into fine lines. Getting the Tarte concealer in my shade is actually a challenge because light medium/light neutral always sell out so fast.

This is the shade C4, I also had C2 but it's empty now

So I decided to try this concealer as Emily did say this was one of her favorite drugstore concealers, and Revolution Beauty is one of my favorite brands too. Again, I was pleasantly surprised. While it isn't the most potent concealer out there, I find that it's more versatile than Tarte Shape Tape.

Not the fullest coverage, but look how well it cancels out those vibrant colors

I can only wear the Tarte concealer by itself because it somehow makes me look older over foundation. However, I can wear this concealer with AND without foundation on, and it looks good both ways. I believe the hype about its performance and quality is well-deserved and I feel that this may soon replace my Tarte concealer indeed.

BH Cosmetics Weekend Festival Palette

So how does Emily like her rainbow palettes? She loves variety in shade range, versatility, and vibrancy. That alliteration is exactly what she thought of this beautiful palette.

Have you ever seen such beauty?

In a review that Emily did of this palette, she said that what made this product so special was the thought that BH Cosmetics put into the color scheme. If you are a follower of Emily's, you know that she expects cohesion from eyeshadow palettes.

She likes light shades to use as a highlight, mid-range shades to define the crease, and deep, rich shades that will make the light colors stand out and really "sing" as she says. Well, she is not wrong because I bought this palette, and I love it.

The color lover in me is ecstatic

The mattes are soft and blend out nicely and the metallic shades feel like butter and go on extremely pigmented. But really, the color selection is the best thing about this palette. You can come up with a number of looks with it, from neutral looks to colorful ones. This is probably my favorite product in this tag feature.

Where to get it:

Small Sponges (In General)

Does it seem a little extra that you need to buy separate sponges for your under eye concealer and setting powder? I wouldn't really say that. It can get a little hard to use the same sponge for three different products, especially when you like flawless under eyes and a nice bake. While Emily didn't specifically say to go out and buy these sponges in particular, she has always stressed that having smaller spongers to use on your under eyes is a good idea.

These sponges actually came in a set from Real Techniques that I bought, I decided to try them out to see if she was right. I agree that it is a game-changer. Not only can smaller sponges get into the tiny crevices and contours of your face, they ensure a more seamless blend and more targeted placement of product too. Also, these tiny sponges don't tear as much when you wash them , no matter how much you manhandle them.

You can't buy these products separately so here are a few Real Techniques sets with mini sponges:

Pretty Vulgar Pretty Birdie Eyeshadow Palette

This is the very definition of this tag. Emily recommended it, and I bought it. Well, not immediately, but when Pretty Vulgar Cosmetics became available on Sephora PH. She said both this and the Phoenix Rising palette were both worth picking up because of their color schemes. Since this was a new brand to me, I decided to buy Pretty Birdie first.

Stunning packaging and color story

Given that this is an extremely recent purchase, I haven't really used it that much. But I will say that I do think Emily was pretty spot-on in saying that the palette, while just having 12 colors, is pretty versatile and inspiring.

Those shimmers make the mattes look so unimpressive

I wasn't too impressed by the way some of the mattes swatched as it can be seen that they are really firmly pressed. Though this is simply my first impression. For my full thoughts, you've have to stay tuned for a review.

My Final Thoughts

This was my first post which featured a tag from YouTube and I wasn't sure if it would translate well on a blog. Hopefully, I got my point across because I do trust Emily's reviews and want more people to know about her channel and content. If you have a platform like this and are also subscribed to Emilynoel83, I'm tagging you!
