If you saw this in the Chocolate Heart Gift set and felt sad that it was limited edition, Team Revolution heard your pleas. This gorgeous red- and pink-toned palette is now available individually along with five other palettes, and it is a permanent product. Since I bit the bullet and bought this when it first came out around the holiday season, I've had this palette for a while now.
I used it a bit in December and used it a lot during February as I usually only wear red-and-pink toned looks that month. Since I promised that I'd be writing a dedicated review once this palette came out on its own, here is the fulfillment of that said promise.
The Palette
Encased in sturdy plastic that looks like a red chocolate bar with a white glaze (resembling the cream cheese frosting), this palette offers 18 shades with the names printed out on the palette in rose gold. It does also have a sweet scent but I don't think it really smells like Red Velvet in particular.
More good news too! This palette is vegan and does not contain any animal-derived ingredients.
The Shadows
This palette has 11 matte shades and 7 metallic shades. Here are the swatches by row, all on bare skin with no primer (and I also made sure to take these photos when I wasn't so sweaty).

Given the bright pops of color on this palette, it's worth noting that some of the shades on this palette are pressed pigments, with the exception of Frosting, Brown Sugar, Cream Cheese, Blend, and Sweet (mostly metallic shades).
While I personally have no problems with pressed pigments, they do have a tendency to stain your skin and some people's skin might not be able to tolerate the formula. So that is something you need to keep in mind if you're considering getting this palette.
My Final Thoughts
I really, really like the matte eyeshadows in this palette. They're exactly what I expect from Revolution Beauty in general - buttery, buildable, and blendable. As expected, the pressed pigments were more gritty in texture but I had no issues working with them. All the mattes complimented each other without getting muddy or losing their pigmentation throughout the day.
Unfortunately, I can't say that the metallic shades are all consistent in formula and ease of use though. I find that "Frosting" is not that great of an eyeshadow but it's a really good highlight, especially if you enjoy a soft highlight with an iridescent glow. "Sweet" also lacked pigmentation for me and I think using it as a highlighter would make it work better that way too.
I had no problems with Brown Sugar, Decadent, Red Velvet, and Cupcake though. All these shades were soft and, with the exception of Cupcake, even had a wet and foiled texture. Lush was the only metallic that I had a problem with, it was stiff and got hard pan very easily. The metallic shades could definitely use some work as they are still not the same level as the Chocolate Rose Gold Palette - but one dud metallic is a huge improvement for me.
In terms of quality and color story, I still think this is one of the more superior Chocolate palettes that I Heart Revolution has to offer, especially if you love these colors in particular. I honestly had so much fun using this palette, and I loved how every look that I did with it came out.
Where to get it:
(At the moment, the palette itself is still not available in the Philippines, so I will be updating this as more sellers begin to stock it.)
