If there's one thing that's unique about NYX cosmetics, it's that they're one of the few more affordable brands that incorporate a lot of color into their products. In a sea of neutral palettes out in the market, they have colorful palettes that range from the bright to subtle. I'm sure we're all familiar with their ultimate palette range. You know, those square little palettes that offer vibrant takes on color families, from autumn browns, cool blues, and rainbow brights.
So sometime last year, NYX came out with another range of colorful palettes under the In Your Element collection. A sort of luxe range of palettes, as they do cost a lot more their usual products. The palettes are inspired by the elements present in nature; Air, Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind. There was also a metal palette that has since been phased out. Aside from the interesting theme, the eyeshadow shades themselves are definitely different from what we've seen from the drugstore.
I mean, look at them:

While they're not readily available in the Philippines yet, I was able to find that Makeup Depot PH had a few of the palettes in stock (though some are sold out now). And because I love red eyeshadow, of course I picked up the fire palette.
The Palette

The palette itself is a work of beauty, a far cry from the usual clear lids and standard black packaging we see from NYX cosmetics. I can tell that they really thought of what colors should go into this palette because every shade is not like the other and for some reason, they all go together. No shade names really except for numbers, but it's still good that NYX decided to label them somehow for the sake of tutorials and reviews.
Also, do take note that this palette is cruelty-free but not vegan because it does contain Carmine, which is a red pigment obtained from crushed beetles. If you happen to have an allergy or have other concerns with this ingredient, best to steer clear of this palette.

If you adore warm-toned shadows but are bored with all the siennas, mauves, and pinks out in the market, this palette is a breath of fresh air. Instead, you get a vibrant yellow, fun pops of orange, and a gorgeous crimson color. You even get a fun duochrome color and a gray if you want to go for a look with more depth. So here are more detailed photos of the shades.

My Final Thoughts

The matte shades are phenomenal on this palette, they go on pigmented and blend easily without fading away into a muddy color. They last really long and stay vibrant even after half the day has passed. In the picture above, my makeup look had been on for 13 hours already. The wear time is not bad at all.
If you happen to prefer your shimmer shades buttery smooth with an almost wet texture, the shimmer shades aren't all like that. 12 and 6 are definitely a softer formula but they are also drier. 1 and 11 more of a stiffer formula that are best applied with a tapping motion over tacky glitter glue. That being said, they do last a fairly long time as well. Though if your eyelids are overly oily, they can crease after quite some time.
Overall, I'd still recommend that you splurge on this palette if you're looking for something warm and unique. You can come up with gorgeous vibrant looks and become your grungiest self. It's also an ideal palette to have if you happen to be looking for a rich warm colors that aren't necessarily called "wearable".
From what I know, this range isn't officially out yet at NYX Cosmetics Philippines but there are online sellers that have them in stock. I will also update this post once this range comes to NYX Philippines.
