My Ideal Palette Tag

So back in 2013, Carah Amelie created the My Ideal Palette Tag! because let's face it, if you love eyeshadow, it can be a bit hard to find your ideal palette. While there are a ton of brands out there that let you create or design your own palette with their single shadows, it's still not that easy.

So, she decided to create a tag that will allow you to design your ideal 10-pan palette using existing palettes from your own collection and following the rules that Carah specified for this. Aside from following these rules, I will also be noting below if every shade is vegan or not if I have the information.

RULES:

So for my ideal palette, I know that I want something colorful, has face and eye powders, and has more matte shades than metallic shades.

2 Highlight Colors (That I Can Also Use for My Face)
  • BH Cosmetics Blacklight Highlighting Palette - Kween (Vegan)

  • Revolution Makeup Blush Dream Palette - Pink Highlight (No Info - Discontinued)

It's no secret that I love a beautiful, colorful highlighter. Some of my favorite highlight shades are pink and teal, and these are the nicest in my collection. I want these to be in larger pans as I intend to use them on both my eyes and cheeks - an ideal palette should be multi-use I think. I'd be using these on my eyes too, of course.

2 Lid Colors
  • Copacetic Cosmetics Elysian Palette - Pandora (Vegan)

  • Menagerie Cosmetics Feral Palette - Wolfling (Vegan)

I always prefer a duochrome lid shade because their finish is more versatile when it comes to color combinations. These both have interesting shifts that will make them easy to pair with different matte shades. Pandora has a blue and purple shift, so it's perfect for colorful and cool-toned looks. Wolfling has a pink and gold shift, so it's better for warm-toned looks.

2 Crease Colors
  • Melt Cosmetics Muerte Palette - Corazon (Not Vegan)

  • Blush Tribe x Paulina Palette - Angel (Not Vegan - Discountinued)

Nothing like a bright red and a pink crease color. They're some of my favorite crease colors to wear (though spoiler alert, these won't be the only crease colors of course).

2 Outer Corner Shadows
  • Colourpop It's My Pleasure Palette - Sleeper (Not Vegan)

  • Spoiled Lips Cosmetics Oh Abbi Palette - Garden (Not Vegan)

Outer corner shades usually have to be deep and versatile as well. So I'm going with these colors. I think these can go with different colors and I'd wear both colors on their own too.

2 Bonus Shadows
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Vol. 2 Pro Palette - B5 (Vegan)

  • Glamlite Hamburger Palette - Avocado (Vegan)

Obviously, I just want more mattes to round out the colors that I like. So I need a blue and green in the medium tone range. I used to be afraid of wearing blue and green eyeshadows but now I love wearing them.

And here are all the swatches of the shades that I picked from my ideal palette!

I realize that this looks like a candy-themed palette, and I'm not complaining. I LOVE colorful palettes. I did the above swatches in low light so you can see the shifts in color with the metallic shades. Anyway, here are the swatches in direct sunlight.

Again, these swatches were made on bare skin with no base. Moreover, I made sure my skin was dry and that I wasn't sweaty.

Ideal Palette Packaging

I want it to be plastic, like the Makeup Revolution collab (Rach Leary or EmilyNoel83 for example) palettes because plastic palettes are just more travel-friendly.

The layout would look a bit like the BPerfect Carnival palette in particular. Large highlight shades and square-panned eyeshadows.

It will open up to have a huge mirror, because that feature is very important to me (especially for travel). And again, I consider the Ultimate Goddess Palette a good example of it, I mean, look at THAT:

Anyway, that's about it for this tag! If you're interested in doing it for yourself, I encourage you to go through your own collection to come up with a 10-pan palette with your favorite shades from your current eyeshadow palettes. The results might be predictable, but it's still a fun tag to do nonetheless!
